Two women. Two different paths in life.

Amber’s husband is pressuring her to have a baby. Amber wants to have fun. She gives in to her husband, only to find that all is not as it seems.

Karen’s marriage is at its end, rocked by grief and lies. Newly redundant, she leaves on a flight to Berlin, to spend time alone and consider her future.

Amber is the temp who took over Karen’s job. But that’s not all the two women have in common. One woman's drunken kiss in a nightclub will lead to their paths crossing once again.

Life is about to reveal new journeys for them both.

Early Feedback

Total relatable and the dialogue is utterly hilarious at times, a great mix of characters which almost ends up like an episode of Eastenders, wonderfully British and a joy to read. ~ Read With Me

I can't fault this story at all, it's beautifully written, the stories are cleverly tied together and I loved how it all turned out in the end! Five stars from me! ~ Blogging For The Love Of Authors and Their Books

This is the first time that I have ever read anything by Andi M. Long and I think I will look to see what other books she has written for me to read. I loved this story. This is not the usual type of book that I read but, I highly enjoyed this book. ~ Tasty Wordgasm

Favorite Quotes:

I spend around twenty minutes perusing before buying myself a shopping bag with a chic French woman on it, as if I might become that person through osmosis.

Shh, you crazy cow.  I love you.  Not in that way because even if I was that way, you would be punching above your weight, but in the best mates way, I love you, you daft bat.

We spent our marriage starving each other of oxygen instead of encouraging each other to breathe.

Andi comes into the office before it’s time for us to leave with a face that looks like she’ll put a horse head on someone’s pillow.

It’s like I was a paper cut-out before, all think and white and plain, and then someone shook me and a chain of other Karen’s, other personalities, flowed out.  They’re slowly being coloured in, decorated, gaining features of their own, yet can be folded back under the plain looking girl.

My Review:

Oh, that Andie M Long is a sly one.  She tricked me – the clever minx! Journey to the Centre of Myself was absolutely brilliant.  The writing was stellar and insightful, the characters were endearingly flawed and lovable, and the storyline was unique and well crafted.  I thought I had it figured out and had been bracing myself for a big show down - and actually got several, just not the one I was expecting… it was even better.  I adored the humor, heart squeezing inner musings, and dual POV.  The writing was smart, insightful, amusing, and unfailingly entertaining.  Ms. Long has mad skills!
