Publication Date: 22 June 2015

More Than Water Full Cover

Synopsis: It doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel wrong. It just...feels.
EJ Cunning, an art history major, dates musicians. Foster Blake, a chemical engineering major, can’t sing a tune. They’re not each other’s type. They’re coworkers. Then, one night leads to sex—sex between friends—which leads to an agreement. It all seems so simple—but nothing ever is. Many layers build a person’s facade. Look into the depths for what’s hidden within. It’s more than water. It’s a story—a living and breathing substance beyond the reflective surface.

Favorite Quotes:

“The woman is as clueless as a fish swimming in a bowl of milk.”

“You’ve got more action going on than a whore at a bachelor party.  With a schedule like that, do you have time for restroom breaks, or did you just opt for a catheter?”

“Sure I’m avoiding him like a child afraid of clowns at a circus, but this guy is one freak show I’ve had enough of for a night.”

“You can always tell who’s a minx in the sheets, and you, my friend, are a crazy kitty.”

“‘You know I love it when you talk nerdy to me,’ I jest at his playfulness.  ‘Forget dirty wordsmithery.  Science is where it’s at.’”

“I’m not sure how or when it happened, but this man snuck his way into my heart.  He’s the answer to the questions I never thought to ask.”

My Review:

More Than Water was so very much more than I was expecting.  It was a fun and entertaining read with thoughtful and spicy elements, and I was quickly hooked from page 1.  The characters were multi-faceted, endlessly interesting, whip smart, and witty.  I adored their clever banter, snarky humor, and wickedly funny repartee.  The story was unique, well-written, and hard to put down, even when my eyes were tired and wanted to close.  This is my first Renee Ericson read, but I have already added everything on her Goodreads list to my TBR.
